As summer draws to a close, we look forward to the start of the 2020-2021 school year. The teachers and staff are excited to see
your children’s smiling faces after a restful summer!

The first day of school this year will be Wednesday, August 26th, 2020. Students should arrive at school by 8:15 a.m. in their
school uniforms. Jackets (including cardigans and school hoodies) are currently not required because of the heat, but students
should make sure to wear all other uniform parts.

Students should bring:

  • Their own set of school supplies (notebooks, pencils, scissors, glue, colored pencils, etc.)
  • A permanent marker (名前ペン) to label textbooks and supplies
  • Lunch

This year, to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus (Covid-19), students will stay in their homeroom classrooms throughout the
day. Homerooms will be as follows:

Homeroom assignments

G2

Mrs. Im*, room 2B

G3

Miss Sataraka, room 2A

G4

Miss Peralta, room 2C

G5

Miss Barnett, room 3C

G6-7

Mr. Berry, room 4A

G8-9

Mr. Paul, room 3AB

G10-12

Mr. Richardson, room 4B

*Ms. Joy will take over the G2 homeroom class later this year when she arrives in Japan.

We will also continue our previous coronavirus prevention procedures of checking temperatures, requiring masks, maximizing
ventilation, and sanitizing often.

In place of our usual PTA meeting/parent orientation, we ask that parents visit the school website tomorrow, Wednesday,
August 19th. We will post important information about the new school year.

Finally, students who will be joining classes through Zoom instead of in person should inform the school as soon as possible
through email or by calling the school directly. Please do not use KakaoTalk or other forms of informal communication. If your
situation changes and your child would like to attend regular seated classes, please inform the school promptly.

May you and your family continue to stay healthy and safe during these unprecedented times. We look forward to seeing your
children on the 26th!

Sincerely,

WICS Staff
